Can I actively join the sailing aboard yacht Mariska?

Yes, of course! On the first day, the experienced crew of Mariska will introduce you to all safety measurements and handlings, as well as guide you throughout the whole regatta event. Take the chance to be part of the winning team and show your knowledge! Should you, on the other hand, prefer to just enjoy the thrill of the race and the salty breeze on your skin without actively joining the sailing, then the decision is all yours at any time.

How many days of sailing are there during the regattas?

This depends on the event. Most events offer anything between 3 – 6 days of sailing action. Certain regattas, like the Bailli de Suffren, also span a considerably extended duration.

With a 1-day sailing training before the start of the regatta, you can call yourself a true sailor after crossing the finishing line on the last day. Please note that attending the regatta races is at no time obligatory. If you ever feel like skipping a day of sailing, the choice is yours at any time. We have plenty of activities for you to choose from to make your stay as perfect as possible.

Is it possible to only attend single days during the regatta?

Certainly. If, for any reason, you are not able to attend the whole regatta, you can always choose to attend only one or several days of your choice. Please note that availability for single-day participants is limited, so we encourage you to secure your spot as soon as possible.

What is the history of classic yacht Mariska?

Mariska, a sailing yacht with a rich history, was designed by the renowned William Fife and commissioned in 1908 by A.K. Stothert, a prominent yachtsman of the early 20th century. Fife, celebrated for his skill in creating both aesthetically magnificent and fast yachts, brought his expertise to Mariska’s design, embodying a blend of maritime history, architectural brilliance, and a legacy that extends through time. The creation of Mariska marked a significant chapter in the early 20th-century yacht design, as it was conceived not merely as a racing vessel but as a masterpiece of design and a symbol of ambition. Stothert’s vision was to push the boundaries of yacht engineering, seeking a yacht that excelled in racing while representing the elegance and sophistication of the era.

During an era marked by rapid advancements in yacht design and a burgeoning passion for maritime sports, Mariska stood out as a testament to innovation. Fife’s design incorporated cutting-edge innovations in naval architecture, featuring a sleek hull and an advanced rigging system, showcasing the yacht’s efficiency in harnessing wind power. Mariska’s competitive years, spanning from 1908 until World War II, were marked by triumphs and trials, making her a trendsetter in the golden age of yacht racing. With her speed, agility, and strategic prowess, Mariska became a notable contender, leaving a lasting legacy in the competitive sailing world. Preserving Mariska has been a meticulous process involving several refits, with each restoration reflecting a commitment to maintaining her original glory. The yacht’s continued relevance in the modern sailing world is evident as she participates in regattas, serving as a living legend and an educational tool, inspiring new generations.

Today, Mariska offers unique charter opportunities through Noblesse Yachts, allowing individuals and corporate entities to experience the magic of classic yachting firsthand.
